This site is dedicated to Maynard & Lillian Rudbeck Almsted and my husband, Gerald Wayne (Jerry) Almsted

        Born Menes Leonard Almstedt, Maynard was the second son born to this family on December 1896 Maiden Rock, Pierce Co., Minnesota and the first child born in America after the family left Sweden (SV).  The first child born to this family was Artur Julin (Arthur) who was born December 1895 Bjurtjärn, Värmland, Socken Dalarne, Sweden.  Lillian Augusta Rudbeck was born in America, as were her siblings.  Her parents married after her father arrived in Kandiyohi Co., MN from Mockfjärd Parish, Gagnefs Kommun, Socken Dalarne, Sweden where he was born.  Lillian's mother was born in Lake Lillian, Kandiyohi Co., MN after her parents moved from Sweden.  The Rudbeck family was reared in Lake Lillian and Willmar, Minnesota areas.
