Got Music is a non-profit organization committed to providing children with the benefits of hands-on music education. Our motto and mission is “Music for All.” We enable youth organizations and schools to become, as one Boys & Girls Club director describes, “neighborhood music centers.” Got Music’s comprehensive “Success Manual” materials, specially designed curriculums and consultative services provide the means to build an excellent music program. Based in northern California, the Got Music program is offered nationwide to open the world of music to children who may otherwise never experience the joys of musical learning. Our Board members and staff offer expertise in: youth mentoring, education, music instruction, project development, non-profit management, team building, financial analysis, general business and marketing. Got Music addresses the aftermath of governmental budget cuts to arts programs in public schools. Many families cannot afford private music instruction for their children. These children often do not participate in school music programs (if they exist) because the instrument rental, uniforms, etc. can be too costly for their family’s budget. Tragically, too many of our children are becoming young adults deprived of the proven benefits of learning music. The Got Music program provides inexpensive or free small group music classes in existing youth facilities, removing the financial and accessibility barriers that have prevented many children from learning music.
