This page is being developed for the purposes of gathering the best information available concerning Winlinks Telpac and Paclink messaging system for EMCOM use in the Southeast Dallas County area. This Page is not all inclusive but I hope it will help. All are welcome to use whatever resources you may find useful on this page.
As amateur radio operators our business more often than not involves last mile communications into or out of a disaster area. packet radio is well suited for this task. Without going into the nuts and bolts of packet radio I will just say that the winlink system has even made the guys that have been using packet radio for years realize that new and exciting ways of using the mode are now possible in the way it was originally intended. The Paclink / Telpac system is one of those.
In hopes of avoiding my natural tendency to be long winded let me just say this. I am not an authority on this system so you will find many links to other sites where the folks are much better informed than I am on the subject. It is my hope however that you will find the information useful and informative and we are able to add this tool to our EMCOM arsenal in a timely fashion. You can also see a log of the progress of this project by going to our log page HERE.
